After thorough analysis and consideration of our current environment, we decided to move forward with Bicep. Here’s why: 🌐 Project Context: Our existing infrastructure extensively utilized Bicep modules, and we needed to determine the most efficient and effective path forward for future development and maintenance. 🛠 Key Considerations: Compatibility and Consistency: Current Setup: Our environment was already leveraging Bicep modules, ensuring a level of familiarity and stability. Seamless Integration: Bicep’s native integration with Azure made it a logical choice, reducing the need for additional configurations and complexities. Ease of Use and Simplicity: Declarative Syntax: Bicep’s syntax is concise and easier to read and write compared to JSON ARM templates, enhancing productivity. Simplified Management: Bicep allows for simpler module management and reuse, which streamlined our development process. Enhanced Features: Rich Type System: Bicep’s robust type system and support for IntelliSense in VS Code provided a smoother development experience. Just read an amazing case study by Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) #cncf on how Seznam.cz opts #cilium to boost performance and reduce costs. This study highlights the pros of using cilium in the #Kubernetes Cluster. 🔴 Seznam is a Czech technology company that offers a variety of services including a search engine, news aggregator, TV streaming, email, and maps. 🟠 Challenge Faced by Seznam: - Costly F5 hardware Load balancer - Inefficient IPVS - High costs - Lack of automation, High CPU consumption 🟢 Solution: - Seznam selected Cilium for network, security and observability due to its high performance, open source nature and popularity - It's Kube-proxy replacement feature 🔵 Impact: - By numbers, HTTP requests grew to 1 million per second. - 100 + clusters can remain safely and effectively in a cluster mesh. - 100k + Endpoints are available across the DCs. - Cilium Layer 4 load balancer helped to save a lot of money for its CPU Usgae optimization Checkout the case study 👇: https://lnkd.in/gRf77Yfv

First, I have an doubt how these containers, pods and services will communicate with each other and later this communication is called as "Kubernetes Networking". when I am preparing kubernetes I did not notice that much about kube proxy and CNI pluggin. But, later on I came to know that without these two communication is impossible. communication between containers in pod: containers use pod IP for external communication and for internal communication it uses local host and the port that container exposes. communication between two pods in same node: CNI plugged establishes the bridge network and this is connected to the multiple network of the pods in the same pod. so each pod will have a virtual ethernet interphase. so when pod A wants to communicate with pod B. pod A creates a packet with destination IP address and sends it to the virtual ethernet interphase of pod A, as both pods network interface is connected to the bridge network. the packet will travel through the bridge network to the virtual ethernet interphase of pod B. from here packet will travel to pod B and this packet will be processed by pod B and communication is established.

🚀 **Unlock the Power of Terraform State Files!** 🌐 Managing infrastructure with Terraform? Then you can't afford to overlook the importance of Terraform State files. Here's why they are crucial: 🔗 Resource Mapping: They map resources to your configuration. 🔍 Change Detection: They help Terraform detect changes in your infrastructure. 🛠️ Planning: They allow Terraform to generate accurate execution plans. 🤝 Collaboration: They enable team collaboration by providing a single source of truth. In a distributed environment, storing the state file locally can lead to duplicate resources, conflicts, and over-provisioning. Imagine Developer A and Developer B working in different time zones. Without a remote state file, they could easily end up creating duplicate resources or overwriting each other's changes. That's why storing the state file remotely is essential. But remember, remote storage alone isn't enough. You also need to lock the state file to prevent concurrent operations that could corrupt it. In my project, we use an 🔸 AWS S3 bucket 🔸 for remote state storage and a 🔸DynamoDB 🔸 table for state locking. This setup ensures that the state file is stored 🔸remotely and locked🔸 when someone is making changes, preventing conflicts and ensuring consistency. Here are some best practices for managing state files: ➡ State Locking: Prevent concurrent operations that could corrupt the state file. ➡ Versioning: Keep previous copies in case of accidental deletions. ➡ Version Control: Regularly back up your state files and track changes. ➡ Encryption: Ensure your state files are encrypted both at rest and in transit. ➡ Workspaces: Use Terraform workspaces to manage different environments within the same configuration.
